India contributes to 16.5% of the total global population and 1/5th of the world’s share of diseases. But there is a marked inequality in healthcare provisioning between urban and rural India, which is

further enhanced by factors like geographical and socio-economic barriers. The current healthcare system in rural India is extremely rigid, amounting to inefficiency in responding to local needs and realities.
Apollo Tele Health Services and the “Common Service Centres Scheme” of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communication & IT, Government of India has come together to provide primary and second opinion Tele consultation services to over 60000 village level CSCs in India.
The Common Services Center (CSC) Scheme is one of the key pillars of the ambitious National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of Government of India to digitally empower rural Citizens. Apollo Tele Health Services is the valued partner for community health care in the CSC program for the Government.
